The humming womb: Installation in der Multihalle Mannheim

Die Multihalle Mannheim, Werk des Pritzker-Preisträgers Frei Otto (1925-2015), ist als größte freitragende Holzgitterschalenkonstruktion der Welt ein ikonischer Bau der architektonischen Moderne. Im Juni 2019 bezogen die Musiker Konstantin Gropper („Get Well Soon“) und Ziggy Has Ardeur in einer kongenialen Kollaboration diese so sphärische wie dünnhäutige Halle und suchten in unterschiedlichen öffentlichen Formaten nach ihrem Klang, um damit dieses seit Jahrzehnten brach liegende Bauwerk für die Stadtgesellschaft zu reaktivieren. concrete : music/the humming womb ist eine Produktion des Goethe-Instituts Mannheim im Rahmen des Projekts EUTOPIA Multihalle im Förderprogramm „Europäisches Kulturerbejahr – Sharing Heritage“, realisiert in Kooperation mit der Stadt Mannheim/Dezernat IV und gefördert durch die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.
